Kosmo Care
Kosmo 03 features two distinct ends. A fillable end to load your dog's favourite spreads or treats, and a Cap end designed to securely hold a bully stick in place. This page covers everything you need to know to keep your Kosmo 03 clean, properly assembled, and ready for your dog's next enrichment session.
How do I clean it?
The Kosmo 03 fully disassembles for thorough cleaning.Β
1. Un-twist the Cap a quarter way just enough to place in a few drops of dish soap along the Cone and Screw.
2. Twist the Cone and Screw a few rotations so the soap has evenly distributed within the seam.*
3. Turn toy over with the Cone side up and Cap resting on a cloth on top of the counter.
4. Push down on Cap and Cone until Cone βpopsβ loose from the Screw.**
5. Clean parts with soap and rinse thoroughly, alternatively place in the dishwasher using a regular cleaning cycle.
*Lubrication is key to remove the Cone from the Screw.
**You will need a bit of force to release the Cone from the Screw, it's for the safety of the dog that this is secure. Watch your fingers!
All components are dishwasher safe with no hard-to-reach crevices that harbour bacteria. Hand washing with dish soap and water is easy too, make sure to thoroughly rinse.
How do I put it back together?
TIP BEFORE ASSEMBLY:
A tip prior to assembly is to place a bit of dog safe oil (coconut, avocado, olive oil etc), along the inner edges of the Cone and along the Screw indent where the Cone will snap into place. This will give enough lubrication to easily snap the Cone and Screw back together.
1. After adding oil, snap Cone and Screw together.
2. Twist on Cap onto Screw.
If placing a bully stick in the holder, make sure to secure the bully stick by twisting Screw and Cap tight.
What if a part wears out?
Simply order a replacement component directly from barkus.ca. The steel core is built to last the life of the system, only the contact components ever need replacing.
Is the Kosmo 03 indestructible?
No, and we will never claim it is. The Kosmo 03 is built from premium, food-grade materials engineered for real daily enrichment use, but like any toy put through its paces by an enthusiastic chewer, it will show wear over time.
The rubber ends will soften. The nylon will earn its scratches. That is not a flaw, that is proof your dog is getting exactly what the Kosmo 03 was designed to give them.
What makes the Kosmo 03 different is what happens next. Instead of throwing the whole toy away, you simply replace the worn component. The system stays, and only the part that needs refreshing gets swapped.
Built to wear. Designed to last. Never designed to be thrown away.
Can I leave my dog alone with the Kosmo 03?
We recommend always supervising your dog during any enrichment session with the Kosmo 03, especially during initial use while your dog is getting familiar with the toy.
While the Kosmo 03 is built from premium, food-grade materials and designed with your dog's safety at the forefront, no toy is a substitute for responsible supervision. Every dog chews differently. Aggressive chewers in particular should always be monitored to ensure the toy is being used as intended.
As your dog becomes comfortable with the Kosmo 03 and you get a feel for how they interact with it, you will develop a natural sense of when and how to use it within your routine.
When in doubt, stay close. Your dog's safety is always the priority.

Is the Kosmo 04 indestructible?
No, and we will never claim it is. The Kosmo 04 is built from premium, food-grade materials designed for real daily licking and treat enrichment sessions, but over time and with regular use, the natural rubber ends and nylon body will naturally show wear.
The more your dog uses it, the more frozen treats, the more licking sessions, the more enrichment, the more lived-in it will look. We consider that a sign of a toy doing exactly its job.
When a component eventually needs replacing, you order just that part from us.
Can I leave my dog alone with the Kosmo 04?
We recommend supervising your dog during enrichment sessions with the Kosmo 04, particularly during the first few uses while your dog is learning how to interact with the toy.
The Kosmo 04 is designed to be a calming, low-intensity enrichment experience, licking is one of the most natural and self-regulating behaviours a dog can engage in. That said, no enrichment toy should be used as a fully unsupervised activity until you are confident in how your dog engages with it.
Once you know your dog's style, how enthusiastically they lick, how they carry and hold the toy, you will be in the best position to decide what level of supervision feels right for your routine.
When in doubt, stay close. Your dog's safety is always the priority.
